Wild Week Comes To A Quiet End

Nov 11, 2016 | Market Commentary

Friends

As expected, it was a very quiet day of trading. Stocks simply drifted near the breakeven mark for the entire session as traders seemed somewhat exhausted from the week’s proceedings. Remember, the bond market was closed today, so stock traders were left to their own devices, and as mentioned they appeared to just want to get the weekend started.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 39 points to close at 18,847. The S&P 500 was down 3 points to finish the day at 2,164. Gold continues to be lambasted as the precious metal was down another $43 to trade at $1,223 per ounce. Oil was down $1.39 to trade at $43.27 per barrel WTI. Nat Gas was down $.005 to finish trading at $2.627.

What a week. It’s time to decompress a little. A special thanks to all of our veterans on this most important of holidays- Happy Veteran’s Day.

Have a great weekend everyone.
