Waiting On The Elections

Nov 5, 2018 | Market Commentary

Friends

Despite weakness in big names like Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google, stocks were able to hold on to early gains throughout the trading session. It feels like market participants are a little tentative as we head into tomorrow’s mid-term elections, but that is not unexpected. When we know the political landscape come Wednesday morning, it is likely that investors will have a more firm opinion of the next direction for stocks.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 191 points to finish the day at 25,462. The S&P 500 was up 15 points to close at 2738. Gold was down $1 to trade at $1,232 per ounce, while oil was down $.31 to trade at $62.83 per barrel WTI.

As we try to stay away the best we can, we’ll just let the elections play out, and then we’ll discuss how the markets are reacting to the results. It should be a busy week, so stay with us and we’ll let you know how it all plays out.

Have a nice evening everyone.
