The Bulls Continue To Hang On

Friends

The market averages were somewhat mixed today with the Dow up nicely, the S&P mostly unchanged and the Nasdaq down for the day. Again, not much in the way of headlines for traders to overreact to so once again trading was quiet and lacked volatility.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 172 points to close at 39,056. The S&P 500 was down a small fraction to finish the day at 5,187. The Nasdaq was down 29 points to close at 16,302. Gold was down $7 to trade at $2,316 per ounce, while oil was up $.79 to trade at $79.17 per barrel WTI.

So, the S&P’s winning streak officially ends given it was down a fraction. Nevertheless, the bulls continue to hold the high ground as economic conditions continue to support stock prices.

Have a nice evening everyone.
