Stocks Turn The Tide

Friends

A buy recommendation on Apple from Bank of America helped stoke a little rally today and the biggest beneficiary was the Nasdaq. The bulls were looking for something to build on and today’s action might help give them some traction. At the very least, a nice day like today helps change the mood a bit.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 201 points to finish the day at 37,468. The S&P 500 was up 41 points to close at 4,780. The aforementioned Nasdaq Composite Index was up 200 points to close at 15,055. Gold was up $17 to trade at $2,024 per ounce, while oil was up $1.50 to trade at $74.06 per barrel WTI.

As we finish up the week let’s take a look ahead to next week’s earnings releases. We will hear from 3M, United Airlines, IBM, GE, Verizon, Lockheed Martin, Halliburton, Netflix, Tesla, AT&T, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Dow, Union Pacific, and Intel – just to name a few. First, we’ll see how the week finishes out tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
