Stocks Rally Into The Election

Nov 3, 2020 | Market Commentary

Friends

Did stock market participants know something? Of course, I’m not sure what they might have thought they knew. Blue Wave? Surprising Trump win? Biden wins but Senate stays in Republican hands? Well, your guess is as good as mine, but stocks rallied nicely today adding to yesterday’s good start to the month of November.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 554 points to finish the day at 27,479. The S&P 500 was up 58 points to close at 3,369. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 202 points to close at 11,160. Gold was up $15 to trade at $1,907 per ounce, while oil was up $1.11 to trade at $37.92 per barrel WTI.

Well, open yourself a nice bottle of wine and settle in for an interesting night of election results. One thing we already know is that a whole lot of folks will have casts their votes- maybe the most ever. So, once again America is working as it should. Let’s hope whoever wins that the best days for this country lie ahead. Let’s stay positive and optimistic (someone’s has to, it might as well be us).

Have a nice evening everyone.
