Stocks Continue Climb

Oct 25, 2022 | Market Commentary

Friends

Stocks were able to add to last week’s gains during today’s trading session as investors brace for a big week of corporate earnings. We mentioned some of the names that will be reporting this week, but just a reminder that behemoths Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon all will be releasing earnings. All this before next week’s FOMC meeting where analysts are expecting another 75-basis points rate hike from the Fed.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 417 points to finish the day at 31,499. The S&P 500 was up 44 points to close at 3,797. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 92 points to close at 10,952. Gold was down $2 to trade at $1,653 per ounce, while oil was down $.42 to trade at $84.63 per barrel WTI.

Stocks have had a good run, but the bulls will be tested over this week and next. Then of course we have the mid-term elections, and they too could set a different tone for investors going forward. So, buckle up, there will be a wave of news and information coming our way over the coming days and weeks.

Have a nice evening everyone.
