September Struggles

Sep 7, 2018 | Market Commentary

Friends

Despite a good jobs number, stocks still struggled throughout Friday’s trading session. Word that the President was ready with additional tariffs for China sent stocks to their lows midday. Things got a little better for the bulls, but in the end the bears held the high ground.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 78 points to close at 25,916. The S&P 500 was down 6 points to finish the day at 2,871. Gold was down $3.10 to trade at $1,201 per ounce, while oil was up $.08 to trade at $67.85 per barrel WTI.

It was a struggle this week, illustrated by the difficulties that the Nasdaq experienced. September is often a difficult one for stocks. This one is struggling out of the gate.

Have a great weekend everyone.
