It was a quiet day of trading as the market averages spent the day basically treading water. Earnings season continues to roll on with decent success, but price action has been mixed at best.
As for today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 6 points to finish the day at 19,884. The S&P 500 was up a point to close at 2,280. Gold was up $9.39 to trade at $1,217 per ounce, while oil was down $.19 to trade at $53.69 per barrel WTI.
We get the non-farm payroll number tomorrow morning, which should set the tone for the trading session. Remember, Wednesday’s ADP private payroll number was much better than expected, so we’ll see if that translates to tomorrow’s government number. We’ll let you know how the week finishes up tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.
