After a quick but muted bounce at the open, stocks traded near the flat line for most of the trading session. The impeachment announcement by Speaker Pelosi had little effect on the markets, as it was not unexpected. Now, we wait for tomorrow’s jobs report.
As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 28 points to finish the day at 27,677. The S&P 500 was up 4 points to close at 3,117. Gold was up $1 to trade at $1,481 per ounce, while oil was down $.04 to trade at $58.39 per barrel WTI.
Remember, the markets are looking for about 180,000 new jobs to have been created in November, so we’ll see if job creation continues to be a strong aspect of this economy. Stay tuned, we’ll let you know how the week wraps up tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.
