More Global Headline Damage

Friends

With a three-day weekend ahead and the winds of war blowing through the Twitterverse , stocks never really had a chance today. Oh, the bulls mounted several attempts to rally the troops, but there is just too much uncertainty heading into this weekend for market participants to do anything but take risk off.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 232 points to finish the day at 34,079. The S&P 500 was down 31 points to close at 4,348. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 168 points to close at 13,548. Gold was down $4 to trade at $1,897 per ounce, while oil was down $.18 to trade at $91.58 per barrel WTI.

Remember, markets will be closed on Monday, so we’ll be back at it on Tuesday. Will the Russians be in Kyiv by then? Stay tuned.

Have a great weekend everyone.
