More headlines and still not much reaction from the markets. Despite the President firing the FBI Director, stocks once again showed little direction. A couple of Dow components, namely Disney and Boeing caused that index to spend most of the day in negative territory, while the broader market did little.
By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 33 points to finish the day at 20,942. The S&P 500 was up 2 points to close at 2,399. Gold was up $3.70 to trade at $1,219 per ounce, while oil was up $1.56 to trade at $47.44 per barrel WTI.
As we mentioned yesterday, the quiet is almost deafening as market participants remain mostly uninterested. Maybe we are simply getting used to the political headlines. So we remain searching for the next catalyst.
Have a nice evening everyone.
