Friends
As expected, trading was quiet, volatility was pretty much non-existent, and for the most part traders just wanted to get home to get the Thanksgiving festivities started. There was one interesting economic data point as the durable goods number came in much stronger than expected. For the most part, though, other than continued weakness in bonds, the day was non-descript.
By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 58 points to finish the day at 19,082. The S&P 500 was up 1 point to close at 2204. Gold, continuing its decline, and was down $22 to trade at $1189 per ounce, while oil was flat to trade at $48 per barrel WTI.
In this season of giving thanks, we at CHJ would like to take a moment to thank you, our clients. We appreciate that you have entrusted us to guide you on your financial journey, and we work every day at trying to serve you better. Enjoy your family and friends this Thanksgiving, and though not perfect, be thankful we live in the greatest country in the world.
We will be back with you next Monday. Until then, have a great Thanksgiving Holiday everyone.
