It’s going to be really interesting to see if this continues into the new year- likely it will not. What I am speaking of is the Groundhog Day type market action we have seen for a few weeks now. Stocks simply drift for the entire trading session, mainly in positive territory, and then we get some little flurry at the end, and end up nowhere.
As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 24 points to finish the day at 28,645. The S&P 500 was basically flat, closing at 3,240. Gold was up $1 to trade at $1,515 per ounce, while oil was mainly unchanged at $61.66 per barrel WTI.
We have just two more trading sessions left in the year. I’m guessing we’ll get some action when the New Year begins. Stay tuned.
