Finishing Up A Good Week For The Bulls

Oct 9, 2015 | Market Commentary

The markets showed very little life today as traders seemed mostly uninterested in participating in the proceedings. Once again, this was a week somewhat void of economic news, and earnings season doesn’t really kick into high gear until next week. The bulls still seem to have a grip on the situation, but we’ll see next week if that grip is a strong one.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 34 points to close at 17,084. The S&P 500 was up 1 point to finish the day at 2014. Gold was up $12 to trade at $1156 per ounce, while oil was up $.18 to trade at $49.61 per barrel WTI.

We entered the 4th quarter bruised and battered from the beating investors took in the 3rd quarter. So far in October, we have experienced a very nice bounce back, but still find the market averages down for the year. Earnings season ramps up next week. Let’s see if this rally can continue.

Have a great weekend everyone.
