Earnings In Focus

Apr 27, 2017 | Market Commentary

Friends

Stocks drifted aimlessly for most of today’s trading session, but things should heat up after the closing bell when we get earnings releases from Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Intel, Microsoft and Starbucks – just to name a few.  Tomorrow morning we get GM, Exxon Mobil and Chevron.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 6 points to finish the day at 20,981. The S&P 500 was up 1 point to close at 2388. Gold was up $1 to trade at $1265 per ounce while oil was down a fraction to finish trading at $49.23 per barrel WTI.

Market participants are focused squarely on earnings at the moment, so it will be interesting to see how the week finishes out tomorrow after all these earnings releases this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Stay tuned, we’ll let you know how the week finishes up tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
