Early Thoughts on Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Feb 24, 2022 | Market Commentary

Friends

As I am sure you know the Russians did move on Ukraine last night. Of course, we have no idea what the outcome will be. We have an idea of some of the short-term effects (see the price of oil), but no one knows just how all of this will play out in the long run. As human beings and citizens of the world we certainly hope that there is minimal loss of life and human suffering.

With all that said, our job is to guide you through these times and provide the best advice that we can given all of the uncertainty. First and foremost, we must keep a level head. Throughout the history of the markets times like these ended up being buying opportunities in the long run. That does not mean that the situation is not to be taken seriously. But we design investment plans to be prepared for the volatility we have already seen and are likely to continue to see for some time.

We will keep you informed as to how things unfold today and in the coming days and weeks. We were already planning a live interactive webcast for early March but if you have any thoughts or questions today or in the coming days don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’ll send out more information on the coming webcast today or tomorrow. Stay tuned.
