Bulls Salvage Something For The Week

Mar 27, 2015 | Market Commentary

Friends

Well, at least stocks didn’t go down today. For the first time this week, stocks traded modestly higher as the bulls struggle to avoid the first negative quarter for stocks in some time. Trading was quiet and volume light as once again there was no major news event to motivate market participants.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 34 points to finish the day at 17,712. The S&P 500 was up 4 points to close at 2060. Gold was down $5 to trade at $1199 per ounce, while oil, after rallying for most of the week, was down a hefty $3 to trade at $48.43 per barrel WTI.

With just a couple trading days left in the quarter, it will be interesting to see if the bulls can pull out a victory, or do the bears finally really have something to build on? We do get the employment report next Friday, but the market is closed that day for Good Friday. Let’s enjoy the great weather this weekend and hopefully some good basketball games.

Have great weekend everyone.
