Another Volatile Day of Trading

Mar 8, 2022 | Market Commentary

Friends
It was very active day of trading. Stocks fell early on word that the U.S. was going to ban Russian energy imports. But by late morning the Dow reversed on rumors and was soon sporting a tasty 500 point gain (an 800-point swing). Things see-sawed the rest of the day with stocks falling in the last couple minutes of trading into the red once again.
By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 184 points to finish the day at 32,632. The S&P 500 was down 30 points to close at 4,170. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 35 points to close at 12,795. Gold was up $61 to trade at $2,057 per ounce, while oil was up $4.72 to trade at $124.12 per barrel WTI.
Have a nice evening everyone.
