Here Comes Nvidia Earnings

Aug 27, 2025 | Market Commentary

Friends

Buckle up for the big Nvidia earnings release. It will almost certainly be a market mover and will set the tone for the next couple of days of trading. Stocks moved higher today in anticipation of good vibes being spread through the market should Nvidia hit it out of the park.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 147 points to finish the day at 45,565. The S&P 500 was up 15 points to close at 6,481. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 45 points to close at 21,590. Gold was up $15 to trade at $3,448 per ounce, while oil was up $.67 to trade at $63.92 per barrel WTI.

I am not really happy that one stock carries so much weight, as Nvidia accounts for 8% of the S&P 500. That’s right, if you own an S&P 500 index fund, 8% of what you own is Nvidia. So, it matters for everyone. I guess it is what it is, and that’s why their earnings reports are so important. Stayed tuned, we’ll let you know how it plays out.

Have a nice evening everyone.
