Potential Trade Deals Move Stock Higher

Jul 23, 2025 | Market Commentary

Friends

News that trade deals are beginning to take shape sent stocks higher as we wait for earnings from Tesla and Google after the closing bell today. The President mentioned that a trade agreement with Japan was close, and renewed efforts to get a deal done with Europe are underway.

As mentioned, stocks rallied with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 507 points to close at 45,010. The S&P 500 was up 49 points to finish the day at 6,358. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 127 points to close at 21,020. Gold was down $42 to trade at $3,400 per ounce, while oil was up $.19 to trade at $65.50 per barrel WTI.

The bulls continue to push the market averages higher. Let’s see if earnings from the biggest companies in America justifies the enthusiasm. Stay tuned.

Have a nice evening everyone.
