Stocks Rally On Tariff Reset With Europe

May 27, 2025 | Market Commentary

Friends

Over the holiday weekend tariff tensions between the U.S. and Europe thawed and this morning’s Consumer Sentiment came in much higher than expected. This was all a green light for stocks and the market averages moved nicely higher.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 740 points to finish the day at 42,343. The S&P 500 was up 118 points to close at 5,921. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 461 points to close at 19,199. Gold was down $60 to trade at $3,305 per ounce, while oil was down $.58 to trade at $60.95 per barrel WTI.

On the earnings front we will get reports from tech giant Nvidia as well as retail giant Costco. It was a good start to the shortened trading week for the bulls. Let’s see if they can add on to the gains during the rest of the week.

Have a nice evening everyone.
