Friends
We saw a little role reversal today as the stodgy old Dow Jones Industrial Average actually led stocks higher today with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq lagging behind in negative territory by the close. A little rest for the tech generals that have led the way higher, and some participation from other sectors would be healthy for the markets actually.
By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 299 points to finish the day at 39,134. The S&P 500 was down 13 points to close at 5,473. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 140 points to close at 17,721. Gold was up $26 to trade at $2,372 per ounce, while oil was up $.77 to trade at $82.34 per barrel WTI.
Despite today’s mixed results, the bulls still hold the high ground at the moment. Let’s see how the week finishes out tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.
