No Catalyst, No Movement

Stocks were mostly quiet today other than Disney shares which basically spit the bit after a lukewarm earnings report. After the three-day rally, the market averages moved little, and investors didn’t seem to find a reason to buy em or sell em during the trading session.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 31 points to close at 38,884. The S&P 500 was up 6 points to finish the day at 5,187. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 16 points to close at 16,332. Gold was down $10 to trade at $2,320 per ounce, while oil was down $.02 to trade at $78.46 per barrel WTI.

As we mentioned we don’t have any real headline catalysts lined up this week so unless we get an unexpected event it seems likely that stocks might just be on the quiet, less volatile, side this week. Of course, we will see.

Have a nice evening everyone.
