Despite a couple of pretty good earnings reports from Walmart and Home Depot, traders came into to this holiday shortened trading week with little enthusiasm. Market chip making darling Nvidia reports after the close tomorrow and that is likely to set the tone for the week.
As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 64 points to finish the day at 38,563. The S&P 500 was down 30 points to close at 4,975. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 144 points to close at 15,630. Gold was up $11 to trade at $2,035 per ounce, while oil was down $.92 to trade at $78.27 per barrel WTI.

Have a nice evening everyone.
