Happy New Year

Dec 29, 2023 | Market Commentary

Friends

There appeared to be few participants in today’s trading session. There was a downward bias on the last day of trading which seems to always be the case if my memory serves me correctly. It was a good year for the bulls, and they were content to sit the last trading day of the year out.

For the day, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 20 points to finish the year at 37,689. The S&P 500 was down 13 points to finish the year at 4,769. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 83 points to finish the year at 15,011. Gold was down $8 to trade at $2,075 per ounce, while oil was down $.40 to trade at $71.37 per barrel WTI.

As we wrap up another year we would once again like to thank you for allowing us to be your guide on your financial journey through life. If you read these emails every day and you are not a client of ours, we invite you to come join the CHJ family. But most of all we want to wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year from all of us at CHJ. Enjoy the weekend and we’ll be back with you next year.

Happy New Year Everyone.
