Friends

The bulls must be anticipating a very rewarding earnings season. Stocks moved higher today and were able to hold onto juicy gains for the entire trading session. All this despite interest rates moving higher with the 10-year Treasury note’s yield moving back up to 4.70%.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 314 points to close at 33,984. The S&P 500 was up 45 points to finish the day at 4,373. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 160 points to close at 13,567. Gold was down $9 to trade at $1,932 per ounce, while oil was down $.82 to trade at $86.87 per barrel WTI.

Speaking of earnings, this week we will hear from Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Tesla, Netflix, Lockheed Martin, Johnson & Johnson, Abbot Labs, Procter & Gamble, Travelers, Morgan Stanley, American Airlines, AT&T, Union Pacific, and Schlumberger just to mention a few. Let’s hope that earnings live up to the expectations that today’s rally seems to indicate. Stay tuned.

Have a nice evening everyone.
