It definitely feels like we are in a bit of a pause with regards to stock price action. Not so much a rash of selling as it is a lack of buyers wanting to commit more firepower at these levels. As I mentioned last week, that seems reasonable to me and might be the best thing for the market. A pause that refreshes if you will.
For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 245 points to close at 34,053. The S&P 500 was down 20 points to finish the day at 4,388. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 22 points to close at 13,667. Gold was down $21 to trade at $1,950 per ounce, while oil was down $.84 to trade at $70.94 per barrel WTI.
With yesterday’s holiday we have a short week, but we are coming to the end of the quarter so it will be interesting to see how traders want to position themselves as we look towards the second half of the year. Stay tuned.
Have a nice evening everyone.
