The push higher for stocks continues despite the potential head winds of a hotter than expected CPI print tomorrow, or a goofy Fed statement on Wednesday. Nevertheless, the bulls are in charge and emboldened.
For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 189 points to close at 34,066. The S&P 500 was up 40 points to finish the day at 4,338. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 202 points to close at 13,461. Gold was down $4 to trade at $1,972 per ounce, while oil was down $3.08 to trade at $67.09 per barrel WTI.
Stocks aren’t cheap as valuations inch higher so economic data points become more sensitive as we move forward. Let’s see what the inflation number looks like tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Have a nice evening everyone.
