Happy Memorial Day Weekend

May 26, 2023 | Market Commentary

Friends

Going into the Memorial Day weekend traders felt emboldened by vibes out of D. C. that a budget agreement could be reached soon. We will see of course but at least for today the bulls had some clear sailing.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 328 points to finish the day at 33,093. The S&P 500 was up 54 points to close at 4,205. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 277 points to close at 12,975. Gold was up $3 to trade at $1,946 per ounce, while oil was up $1 to trade at $72.82 per barrel WTI.

We just want to take a second and remember all who have fallen while serving this country. Enjoy the three-day weekend. We’ll be back at it on Tuesday.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend Everyone.
