Big Couple Of Weeks Ahead For The Markets

Mar 6, 2023 | Market Commentary

Friends

It’s going to be a very busy next couple of weeks in the markets and ahead of it all stocks were pretty quiet today. Tomorrow the Fed Chair will be testifying before the Senate Banking Committee. Later in the week we get a very important non-farm payroll number. Then next week we get the CPI number on inflation and the March FOMC meeting where the Fed is likely to announce another increase in the Fed Funds rate. It will be a very important series of events that will likely move markets and set things in motion into the spring.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 40 points to finish the day at 33,431. The S&P 500 was up 2 points to close at 4,048. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 13 points to close at 11,675. Gold was down $2 to trade at $1,852 per ounce, while oil was up $.88 to trade at $80.56 per barrel WTI.

As I said there will be a lot coming at us in the next couple of weeks. Buckle up and stay tuned.

Have a nice evening everyone.
