Stocks Disappointingly Mixed

Sep 27, 2022 | Market Commentary

Friends

It was another disappointing day for the bulls as an early morning rally fizzled and stocks drifted in negative territory throughout the afternoon. The way trading days end are so indicative of the type of market that you are in. Up openings that lead to falling prices at the close are typical of bear markets.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 125 points to finish the day at 29,134. The S&P 500 was down 7 points to close at 3,647. The Nasdaq Composite was up 26 points to close at 10,829. Gold was up $2 to trade at $1,635 per ounce, while oil was up $1.81 to trade at $78.52 per barrel WTI.

At least the Nasdaq was able to post a gain today. Baby steps. As I mentioned yesterday, a counter trend rally in here somewhere wouldn’t surprise me. Let’s see how the week plays out.

Have a nice evening everyone.
