Stocks Continue Lower

Jun 16, 2022 | Market Commentary

Friends

Stocks continue to move lower as markets try to price in yesterday’s Fed action and the possibility of recession (we’ll talk about that tomorrow in our zoom call, make sure to join us). As we worried yesterday, the day following Fed rate hikes has not been good for stocks.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 741 points to finish the day at 29,927. The S&P 500 was down 123 points to close at 3,666. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 453 points to close at 10,646. Gold was up $34 to trade at $1,854 per ounce, while oil was up $1.75 to trade at $117.06 per barrel WTI.

As mentioned, we’ll talk about the markets and the economy on our zoom call tomorrow at 10:00 A.M. Let’s see how the week finishes out tomorrow. Remember, Monday is a market holiday, so we are going into a 3-day weekend. We’ll talk tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
