Little Reversal

Apr 7, 2022 | Market Commentary

Friends
After another soft opening, market participants decided to do some buying this afternoon moving the market averages higher by the close.
For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 87 points to finish the day at 34,583. The S&P 500 was up 19 points to close at 4,500. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8 points to close at 13,897. Gold was up $10 to trade at $1,933 per ounce, while oil was up $.73 to trade at $ 96.96 per barrel WTI.
I’ll keep it brief today since we sent out the 2nd quarter outlook piece. Just an addendum to today’s piece- we expected volatility in what was to be a year of transition with regards to Federal Reserve monetary policy. The important thing to remember, if you aren’t a client of ours, is to know your allocation and how that will affect the volatility of your portfolio. In the meantime, let’s see how the week finishes out tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.
