Stocks continued to grind higher today. With very little in the way of news (other than impeachment, which investors care little about), the path of least resistance continues to be to the upside. No, stocks aren’t cheap at these levels, but sellers are nowhere to be found (no one wanting to take capital gains this close to the end of the calendar year), thus any incremental buying forces prices higher.
For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 137 points to close at 28,376. The S&P 500 was up 14 points to finish the day at 3,205. Gold was up $4 to trade at $1,483 per ounce, while oil was up $.37 to trade at $61.30 per barrel WTI.
We’ll let you know how the week finishes out tomorrow, but we’re not expecting much to change.
Have a nice evening everyone.
