Friends

It appears that market participants were busy watching coverage from the Masters today, as stocks did little more than drift aimlessly for the entire trading session. On the economic front, the Producer Price Index was a little hotter than expected, while the weekly jobless claims was better than expected with claims below 200,000.

As for stocks, for the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 14 points to close at 26,143. The S&P 500 was up a fraction to finish the day at 2,888. Gold was down $18 to trade at $1,295 per ounce, while oil was down $.98 to trade at 63.63 per barrel WTI.

Earnings season kicks off tomorrow morning with earnings from JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo. Besides watching the Masters, market participants are very curious about this upcoming earnings season. We’ll keep you posted.

Have a nice evening everyone.
