Stocks Bounce Back

Jul 12, 2018 | Market Commentary

Friends

Stocks bounced right back after yesterday’s trade war fears, and buoyed by a more favorable NATO outcome than feared yesterday, the market averages enjoyed nice gains. The big leaders were once again Amazon, Google, Facebook and Apple, but that’s been the case all year.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 224 points to finish the day at 24,924. The S&P 500 was up 24 points to close at 2,798. Gold was up $2 to trade at $1,247 per ounce, while oil was down $.15 to trade at $70.23 per barrel WTI.

It’s early, but the spattering of earnings we have seen this week have been as good as advertised. We get a peek at earnings from JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citi tomorrow. That should provide us an insight to what the financials in general look like. Remember, year to date financials have struggled. Let’s see how the week wraps up tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
