It was another good day for stocks. It almost seems like once we got by the bulk of earnings season, the bulls declared the coast is clear. Word that there might be some progress being made in trade talks with China, and a couple of tepid inflation numbers this week also may be adding to the comfort that market participants appear to be feeling.
By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 196 points to finish the day at 24,739. The S&P 500 was up 25 points to close at 2,723. Gold was up $8 to trade at $1,321 per ounce, while oil was up $.30 to trade at $71.44 per barrel WTI.
It’s been a surprisingly good week for the bulls. Let’s see if they can top it off with a good Friday session.
Have a nice evening everyone.
