The French election results were as expected with Macron winning, and Warren Buffett entertained his followers at Berkshire’s annual meeting this weekend, but market participants still couldn’t find much to get excited about with regards to today’s trading session.
Once again stocks drifted aimlessly throughout the day. By the close, the Dow was up 5 points to finish the day at 21,012. The S&P 500 was flat to close at 2,399. Gold was up $.10 to trade at $1,227 per ounce, while oil was up $.21 to trade at $46.43 per barrel WTI.
With earnings season now mostly behind us, the market is searching for a catalyst. Even domestic politics and global headlines don’t seem to spark much movement. Let’s see if anything gets the attention of the bulls or the bears this week. Stay tuned.
Have a nice evening everyone.
