As expected, it has been a very quiet week for the stock market. Stocks traded slightly in positive territory for what seemed like the entire session as volatility was virtually non-existent. On the economic font both the jobless claims number and the durable goods orders number were better than expected, and the FHFA House Price Index showed continued strength in housing prices.
As for stocks, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1 point to finish the day at 17,813. The S&P 500 was mainly flat to close at 2088. Gold was down $3 to trade at $1070 per ounce, while oil was up $.23 to trade at $43.10 per barrel WTI.
